Operational Transformation

Operational Transformation Built Around How Your Organisation Actually Works

An operating model can appear effective on paper, even while teams spend time managing disconnected systems, overlapping roles and incomplete handoffs. This unnecessary work creates Noise, consuming an organisation’s capacity and delaying operational service. Introducing a new structure or technology without addressing these underlying issues can carry existing inefficiencies into any redesigned operations.

Our experts use the XeP3 software platform to understand how work actually happens and then quantify and eliminate the associated Noise. We partner with our clients to redesign processes, roles and systems, prioritise operational transformation and measure its impact on capacity and performance to deliver better future outcomes.

Operational Visibility

Better Outcomes Start With Operational Visibility

Before deciding on exactly what to change, begin by understanding how work happens across the end-to-end process. Examining how work moves between teams reveals the exceptions that consume capacity and the measures that matter to customers and the organisation.

This helps establish the baseline that leaders need to make informed decisions about processes, roles, systems and future investment.

Our Approach

Turn Evidence Into An Improvement Roadmap

01

Measure

Engage front-line staff to capture work as it’s actually performed across processes, roles and systems.

02

Quantify

Establish a baseline and prioritise opportunities by capacity, cost, service and risk.

03

Restructure

Design and implement future improvements with the people who actually deliver the work.

04

Reinvest

Apply recovered capacity to service, growth or other strategic priorities.

Digital Transformation In Operations

Prepare Your Processes For AI & Automation

Digital transformation in operations delivers greater value when technology addresses a clearly defined process need.

XeP3 helps leaders identify where manual intervention compensates for inefficient workflows, which processes need redesign and where automation or AI could deliver the greatest benefit.

This evidence quantifies and supports investment decisions and helps organisations prepare their processes for future technology implementation.

Continuous Improvement

Build Improvement Into The Operating Rhythm

Transformation is more effective when teams keep adapting.

Bevington Partners’ consultants can lead a complex program, support an internal transformation or help build the capability for continuous improvement using the XeP3 software platform.

The aim is to deliver a clearer operating model, supported by measures that show whether those implemented changes are working.

Case Study

Integrating Four HR Units Into One

After a major acquisition, a client-services organisation needed to merge four exisiting HR units into one, to reduce operating costs.

Working with Bevington Partners, they used XeP3 to map exactly what each HR team were doing and found that much of their time was absorbed by reactive work.

Using the XeP3 tool, team leaders redesigned roles, moving activities that more naturally belonged with managers back to them and introduced self-help and automation options. Weekly HR queries fell by around two-thirds (from about 570 to 190) and staff shifted from transactional work to supporting business transformation.

  • 67% Reduction in weekly HR queries

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

What Is Operational Transformation?

Operational transformation is the coordinated change to how work is organised and delivered across processes, people, roles and systems. It aligns the operating model with organisational priorities and measures progress against agreed business outcomes.

How Is This Different From Simply Installing New Software?

Software may support a transformation, but the operating process and its exceptions need to be understood and redesigned for technology to create real and lasting value.

Who Should Lead Operational Transformation?

Executive sponsorship and cross-functional ownership are important. Bevington Partners can support an internal transformation team or lead an agreed engagement.
