Webinar

Leading Improvement In Hospitals

The third webinar in our hospital series.

With Jane Evans of St Vincent’s Health Australia.

About The Webinar

Creating Value Through Hospital Improvement

Following our webinars on Unlocking Hospital Productivity and Improving Hospital Safety, the third session in the series is Leading Improvement in Hospitals.

Hosted by Bevington Partners, it continues our exploration of insights from the book Leading Improvements and Organizational Excellence in Hospitals. Professor Danny Samson and Diana Bevington will be joined by special guest speaker Jane Evans, Group Manager, Improvement and Experience at St Vincent’s Health Australia.

Drawing on her published research, Jane will present a framework for creating value in healthcare through process improvement. She will explore how hospitals can bring business and quality priorities together in an organisation-wide improvement plan, focus staff effort where it matters most and measure the outcomes.

Her presentation will examine benefits across quality and safety, patient flow, staff and patient experience as well as cost. Jane will also discuss how hospitals can realise and reinvest financial benefits, distinguishing between cost reductions, cost avoidance, additional revenue and productivity gains. A short panel discussion will follow.

Designed for senior healthcare leaders, the webinar offers a structured approach to leading improvement and putting the capacity it creates to more productive use.

NOTE: Title of panel Discussion and details here

Jane Evans – Group Manager, Improvement And Experience At St Vincent's Health Australia

Jane is Group Manager, Improvement and Experience at St Vincent’s Health Australia. Her research examines how hospitals create value through process improvement, measure and realise financial benefits and translate improvement knowledge into practice. She is a contributing author to Leading Improvements and Organizational Excellence in Hospitals (Routledge, 2025).

Professor Danny Samson – University Of Melbourne

Danny is Professor of Management at the University of Melbourne and editor of Leading Improvements and Organizational Excellence in Hospitals. Co-author of Implementing Strategic Change, he provides the rigorous research and practical expertise underpinning XeP3.

Diana Bevington – CEO And Co-Founder Of Bevington Partners

Diana is CEO of Bevington Partners, co-founder of XeP3 and a recognised leader in operational productivity, process improvement and organisational transformation.

For more than 30 years, she has helped organisations across healthcare, banking, financial services, retail, manufacturing, telecommunications and supply chains identify the unnecessary work, process inefficiencies and accumulated complexity that are draining their time, resources and capacity.

Her approach begins where many others do not. Before turning to AI, automation, restructuring or across-the-board cost-cutting, Diana chooses to first examine how work actually gets done in an organisation. Using the XeP3 software platform, she identifies exactly which processes should be eliminated, simplified or redesigned, freeing up teams and the organisation as a whole to focus on work that delivers real and lasting value.

Diana is a trusted advisor to senior leaders across Australia and internationally. She is a guest lecturer at the University of Melbourne, has co-authored research on Lean Management published in the Australian Journal of Management and is a contributing author to Leading Improvements and Organizational Excellence in Hospitals (Routledge, 2025).
