Recover Capacity Across Retail Operations

Store, support and distribution teams depend on timely, accurate information and coordinated work. Missing information, repeated checks and manual corrections create unnecessary work across the retail network. At Bevington Partners, we use XeP3 to help retail leaders identify those causes and prioritise process improvements that recover capacity, improve retail operations and enhance the customer experience.

Connected Operations

See Work Across Store And Support Teams

Stores, merchandising, supply chain, customer service and head office depend on one another’s work. Late price changes, inaccurate deliveries and unclear promotions can create delays and rework across multiple locations.

XeP3 captures how work actually happens across these teams and quantifies the wasted effort. This helps retail leaders understand how problems in one area are affecting others and prioritise improvements across the entire operation.

Root Causes

Find The Causes Of Retail Exceptions

Stock discrepancies, returns, refunds and manual adjustments are often treated as merely ‘part of the job’.

XeP3 captures how often these exceptions occur, the effort involved and what triggers them. Teams can use these insights to reduce avoidable rework and address recurring problems at their source.

Case Study

Reducing Costs And Complaints Across A Distribution Network

A national retailer needed to reduce costs and customer complaints linked to its distribution centres. It used XeP3 across its distribution centre and store processes and found 41% Noise, including inconsistent supplier standards and deliveries, stock arriving at stores without proper documentation and an inconsistent approach to customer complaints.

By eliminating that Noise, the retailer achieved multi-million-dollar annual savings. Damaged and returned goods fell from 15% to 3%, the share of units moving through distribution centres within 30 days doubled from 46% to 93% and customer complaints fell to zero for six months after implementation.

  • 41% Noise found across this retailer’s distribution and store processes
  • 38.3% Median Noise across 19 retail and consumer goods projects (University of Melbourne research)
